Bringing landscape architects, contractors, suppliers, and affiliated members of the green industry together for interaction and fellowship while generating funds for scholarships, internships and fellowships.

Class Fund Exceeds $2M Goal

Class Fund is pleased to announce that a very important milestone for CLASS Fund was achieved on August 13, 2025. The CLASS endowment fund surpassed the goal of “Campaign Two Million” to $2,014,151.00. This goal was the dream of Bob Cardoza, FASLA, one of the founders of CLASS Fund. CLASS Fund achieved the original $1 Million goal in 2010, which was set by original co-founders Bob Cardoza, Jim Hogan, Keith French, and John Hourian back in 1980.

Upon achievement of the original goal, Bob was inspired to set a new goal with a vision of expanding CLASS Fund’s scope beyond student scholarships to add a landscape architecture research grant. The research grant would be administered through CELA (Council of Educators in Landscape Architecture) which would have a nationwide breadth of coverage to schools offering landscape architecture. In 2011 the first grant was presented to Cal Poly Pomona at the CELA Annual Conference for $100,000.00.

This achievement was made possible by the sponsors and donors of the Green Industry, who have supported CLASS Fund over the decades by participating in our programs and fundraisers, like the annual golf tournament, which just completed its 42nd year in July.

The CLASS Fund endowment will continue in perpetuity to fund student scholarships for landscape architecture, landscape irrigation and plant science, and research grants for landscape architecture — all because of your commitment to give back to one of the most impactful institutions in our world today.

Many thanks and well done all!!
